Road trip to San Antonio. MD-10-10 which had a bleed air duct in the #1 pylon split open. One of the pylon blow-out panels must of knife-edged itself into the pylon notch-flap (really a slat and I'm sure there's an official name for it, but I'm to lazy to look it up).

Anyway..... the slat, the pre-cooler, and the duct needed to be replaced. Did it turn into a cluster? Hell yes it did!!

Pre-cooler out.

Yes.... that "is" a belt-loader under the inboard pylon. Is it approved? Well..... not really, but ya-gota do what ya-gota do to get the job done.

Haven't seen that yet! I've been finding lots of fuel/hydraulic leaks in that area of the pylon and INBD wing leading edge.
