You're talking two different systems here. Anti-Skid vs. Auto-Brakes.
With Anti-Skid, the crews press the brakes manually as a normal function. The A/S system just releases pressure to a brake if it senses a wheel slow down in comparison to the others.
With Auto-Brakes, the crews "do not" apply pressure to the brake pedals. All braking is accomplished by the "rate" selection on the A/B control panel. It can be overridden by pushing the pedals.
