Well.... the bitch was the fact they put an engine 30 feet up on the tail.

Why didn't they bite the bullet and use an "S" duct like the L1011? Thrust is center-line on the fuselage and maintenance can be accomplished with a medium size lift.

I agree our MD11s #2 engine kills the flight if the cowls need open or more time is needed. Bad design!

Well, as of yesterday 10/29/16, FedEx has one less MD-10-10 in our fleet.

No one hurt but, I am crying tears of joy.

What do you think went wrong after touch down and taxi, Mark?

Personally, I think they landed hard and possibly left wing down.

In the crews defense, the damn left gear might of just given out. We had an MD-11 fold the center gear back not to long ago. No fault of the crew at all.

I'm absolutely positive that the DFDR has been pulled and is being examined. There could be two overly compensated pilots who get to see a cessation of those fat juicy checks that they're so damn proud of.

Well, we are down three aircraft: 1 A300, 1 MD11, and 1 747. The latest incident with the MD RT still has everyone wondering what they were thinking. Should have just did a GA.

I can't fly and I actually hate flying altogether so I should just keep my mouth shut on all this. There's just a tad bit of jealousy when you know the "fly-boys" are getting paid huge sums of money to basically hit buttons in the cockpit. Then..... when they are forced to "fly" it...... they can't.

I had several disagreements with pilots over an item that was deferrable, and they were shocked with fear to fly! Yes they make big money to move the packages, but some need common sense indeed.
