I've been doing this stuff for over twenty years and I'm "still" learning.

Some (not all) system schematic manuals that I've used have two little symbols related to relays contacts. Either a circle or triangle is depicted. I never paid attention to what they might mean. Well...... now I know.

All schematic relays are shown (unless noted otherwise) in the relaxed or not energized condition. The contact arm is resting on the circle (or ball). On the opposite side is a triangle. This triangle represents the energized contact. The term I heard was "Pull to Point - Fall to Ball". It seems simple enough, doesn't it?
